FISHAY FISHAAY

In December 2015, we loaded up our 88 BMW M5 with some camera gear, had a nice lunch in the brisk air at the coast, and then headed to our local attraction, the Birch Aquarium.

Neither of us had been there before, even with living in San Diego so long. Like most people, we don't often enjoy the tourist attractions in our own city. Although this is an oceanographic museum showcasing underwater life, I guess I wouldn't really call it a tourist attraction as it's there for research yet they happily show off the any discoveries about the earth, the ocean and the climate with beautifully-maintained tanks and interactive elements.

Even coming up on two years since we attended, I hadn't really done much with the photos until now. Like many photographers, I take a grip of them and stuff them away into a digital bucket until I can get back to them; often just as beautiful or important photos get shoved aside as they aren't a priority above something that might be brining in some income.

If you're ever in San Diego, or even if you live here and have always wanted to go, you should definitely go. Go now! Swim there as fast as you can. It's quite a peaceful place if you want to take the time to learn and watch. We did just that for hours on end.
